Physical Education
At Lincoln Elementary our physical education program for grades K-5 is designed to cultivate a love for movement and promote lifelong fitness habits among young students. The program emphasizes a holistic approach to physical development, incorporating activities that enhance motor skills, coordination, balance, and overall physical fitness. Each grade level participates in age-appropriate exercises, games, and sports that not only improve their physical abilities but also encourage teamwork, cooperation, and fair play.
For younger students in grades K-2, the focus is on fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, and catching, delivered through engaging and playful activities that foster a positive association with physical activity. As students progress to grades 3-5, the curriculum introduces more structured games and sports, emphasizing skill development, strategy, and understanding of rules. Throughout all grade levels, the program integrates lessons on the importance of physical health, personal fitness goals, and the joy of staying active, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to build confidence and competence in their physical abilities.
