History
Lincoln Elementary officially began operating as a school in the fall of 2013. While the building was under construction that fall, the students of Lincoln Elementary were housed, by grade level, in other school buildings throughout the Bismarck Public School district.
In January 2014, the school opened its doors to roughly 375 students in grades K-4. We had 19 classrooms of students during the first year of operation.
Lincoln Elementary grew quickly over the next couple of years, growing to an enrollment of over 500 students. An addition of four classrooms and office spaces was added in the spring of 2016.
The addition project was completed in the fall of 2016 when the school reopened for the new year. Enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year maintained around 575 students with 28 classrooms.
In preparation for continued increasing enrollment, an addition was recently built in 2024 to add an additional office space, multi-purpose room, and ten classrooms. Eight classrooms designed for kindergarten and two of the classrooms have been designed for Pre-K. This is in preparation for the future movement of Lincoln students attending BECEP. Additionally, there are special education and collaboration spaces in the addition.
Currently, we are serving 620 students in 30 classrooms.
